Product Overview

The Semi-Fabricated Stainless Steel Resin Column is a high-efficiency mass transfer device integrating ion exchange, adsorption separation, and resin regeneration. Constructed primarily from premium stainless steel, the column combines compact structure with excellent corrosion and pressure resistance. It is widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, water treatment, food & beverage, and hydrometallurgical industries for processes such as demineralization, decolorization, catalysis, and valuable component recovery. The semi-fabricated design offers both operational flexibility and structural robustness, making it ideal for continuous and automated liquid processing.

Working Principle

Feed liquid flows at a controlled rate from the top or bottom into the column packed with specialized resin, where ion exchange or selective adsorption takes place in the resin bed. Target components are captured by the resin, and the treated effluent meets the required specification. Once the resin reaches saturation, a regeneration solution (acid, base, or salt) is introduced via valve switching to restore the resin’s exchange capacity online. The entire process can operate continuously in a single column, or in series/parallel multi-column configurations, achieving highly efficient liquid treatment and resin recycling.

Core Components

Column Body: Fabricated from SS304/316L, featuring a vertical cylindrical construction with a design pressure ranging from atmospheric to 1.0 MPa. The inner wall is electropolished to reduce fouling and prolong resin life.

Liquid Distribution System: Upper and lower distributors employ sieve-plate or filter-plate designs to ensure uniform distribution of feed and regenerant, eliminating channeling and dead zones and maximizing resin utilization.

Resin Trap: Installed on the outlet line to effectively capture fine broken resin particles, preventing contamination of downstream systems and protecting subsequent equipment.

Sight Glass & Instrument Connections: Elongated or round sight glasses allow visual monitoring of the resin bed level and condition; reserved ports for temperature, pressure, and pH sensors support comprehensive process monitoring.

Support Structure: Stable leg or skirt supports selected according to column dimensions, suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation.
